So it's been a few weeks since my last blog, things seemed to be going really well, both personally and professionally. The way things seem at the moment, I'm just another duck on a pond.
The term "I'm just a duck on a pond" came from a film that I love to bits, The Replacements, if you haven't watched it, I suggest that's one of those films you have to watch, the cast is strong and it still makes me laugh and cry. It stars Keanu Reeves and a few others. So the meaning of that phrase is that on the surface, everything seems calm and sedate, but under the surface, things are going mental, just like the ducks legs paddling a mile a minute. So in essence I'm Just Another Duck on the Pond!!!
Works doing the usual thing for this time of year, it's sporadic and uncertain, this does have to do with the time of year, people spend too much at Christmas and are trying to pay off the holidays, and also that the industry is flooded with people, some of who are not qualified, or that a 30 day intensive course makes them qualified, not like some of us who actually served and apprenticeship and have City & Guilds.
Anyway, it has got me thinking, that seriously I need a stable career and a better income, as with what I actually take home is far less than minimum wage, especially when you work out the hours I actually do, and that's before I factor in the paperwork side of things. I do have a few options and I am seriously looking into those, in the foreseeable future.
So personally, well work has taken priority again, but ever so slightly.
Slightly - oops sorry that's bull, I actually haven't had the time in a while to relax.
I met with my specialist and that went really well, the fact the my bloods showed my T levels to be at 1 and my E levels to be 358 was really good, and the results showed all is well with the rest off my bloods. We talked about my name change and things, so I had another positive session. I also had electrolysis that day and that, as usual was painful.
I also found a local salon who is doing laser to my face, although I shouldn't do both electrolysis and laser at the same time, I really want that area cleared as fast as possible.
When I was in Southampton yesterday, I went over to a friends for lunch, I was in work mode, but besides that, I had the most fantastic afternoon. I do have to admit that it was the first time in a while I had the time to relax and have fun with others, where I wasn't shattered or falling asleep. It actually made my week. XOXO
I'm not uploading a picture with this blog, I hope that is ok :p
