Those that really know me well, know my love of music, singing along, at home, in the van, on the motorcycle, even on jobs (my poor customers and apprentice have suffered lol ), but for me, music has always, from a very young age, as far back when I got my first Kiki Dee Album and record player nearly 40 years ago, a means to express my feelings, I think the apprentice has figured that out.
There are a lot of Genres I listen to, depending upon my mood. Then there are songs that I hear and I just go WOW. I suppose that is why I started playing the guitar when I was at school. I just wanted to have that affect on other people. It's a shame I'm tone death lol
My music collection isn't that vast, I think there is around 25,000 songs that I have, I do listen to a select few, but I am thankful that my Son Antony, shared similar tastes, so when he was in his teens, I would hear the lasted and go oooh I like that.
I could use Spotify or Apple Music, but I do like my varied selection. Which means I run the risk of falling into that old farts syndrome lol.
I'm not sure anyone on Facebook actually played the Music that I shared a few days ago, I only ever share music, if I'm really impressed or I get really emotional over it, even if it's an oldie, but if it gets me going I have to share that, don't ask why, I have no idea.
So there is a game I play occasionally on my AppleTV4, the same game is on my iPhone, but is also available for Android. That game is titled "Alto's Adventure".
Alto's Adventure is just a plane 2D scroller, (I know, sorry I'm a bit of a geek). Where you control Alto on his snowboard and go down mountains, performing stunts and the more stunts you do the longer your scarf gets. I know pretty basic right??? Wrong lol.
The only real time I play Alto, is when I need to chill, and I mean chill before I go to bed. Which is what I did on last Tuesday evening, I mean I was that bored with the TV after dinner, I decided to try and chill.
So I started the game, and using the Apple remote when to click on Start, but this other screen popped up, "Zen Mode". The silly remote would not let me go back, and after a couple of minutes being really frustrated, I decided what the hell. Zen mode is basically the same game play, just no one chasing you, no scores or goals to make.
So what the hell was right, within three minutes of starting the game, I was crying my eyes out. The background music, must have just hit the right spot. It's hard to describe the music unless you actually know it, but the tune was that well crafted, it had it's high spots, low spots and some slow and really fast bits. I tried as much as I could to carry on playing but at each os these low to high spots, just had me in tears.
I was that impressed and in that much of a state, that I just had to see if the music had been uploaded to YouTube, and it was. So I played that for a bit, just to make sure it was the same track, and I started crying all over again.
I like to think that my AppleTV4 is that intuitive and sensed that I was in the need of a good cry, which forced Zen mode, I know it isn't but I like to think so, I mean the game wouldn't let me go back to normal mode, since then it has, go figure.
I seriously recommend, playing it, close your eyes and just relax, either in a bubble bath, out in the snow, or with earphones in and sit and veg out, crank it up and let the world (not the snow) melt away.
I would also love to hear what you think of it. Did it have a profound effect on yourself, as it did me? From looking at the comments on YouTube, I'm glad I'm not alone, but please comment below and let me know.
Remember the music is from an indie Game Developer and not some major corporation.
Have a listen, and before you say "Oh it's an hour long" 20 minutes will do but if you have the time to relax and tune out of the world, stay the course. xXx
